About REcycle Homes, LLC
The company, our vision, and us
REcycle Homes is a startup neighborhood revitalization company in Anne Arundel County Maryland. We are working in Annapolis, Baltimore, Edgewater, Shady Side, Deale, and everywhere in between to restore homes to their former glory. Sometimes a glory they never even knew! We are more than just renovating and merely flipping for profit with low cost materials. We are evolving the industry and revolutionizing the way people think about the role their homes play in their comfort and health. In addition to the health and energy benefits of our homes, we repurpose as much of the original structure as possible to maintain the architectural spirit of the original dwelling; even for complete tear downs! What was once an eyesore the entire neighborhood had given up on is now the pride of the block and contributing to a safer, healthier, and more financially secure neighborhood.
We are a husband and wife team. Aaron is a Coast Guard veteran with over a decade of experience as an expert on health in homes, energy efficiency, and building green homes. Kari is an environmental scientist and is currently studying for the Realtor exam. Together, we are able to offer home buyers with an alternative that is more affordable and better for their families and the world in which they live.
We met in Virginia, but when we moved to Deale, MD in 2014, we fell in love with Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay. We lived on a 34' Silverton with one busted engine, and another engine that didn't run. We struggled to find employment in that first year, but we had never been happier. Between managing which electrical appliances had to be shut off to run the microwave on the boat without tripping a breaker, and walking on icy docks with frozen hair every time we took a shower, we managed to find jobs. Kari found a biology job working in the Chesapeake Bay, and Aaron worked as a consultant to new home builders all over DC, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and the rest of the east coast. Eventually, he worked his way into the federal government developing healthy building programs.
In 2015 we purchased a house in West River, MD and moved off the boat. On any given summer weekend, you can find us playing on the water of the wild and wonderful Chesapeake Bay. In the evenings and cooler months, stop by and say hello if you spot us having a hot meal and cold beer in one of our favorite South County restaurants. We couldn't have asked for a better place to live, which is another reason we are so excited to work in the water privileged neighborhoods located in South County. We have always dreamed of building and rehabbing homes, revitalizing entire neighborhoods, and making people happy. We've finally reached a point where that is possible, and here we are!

Luckily for Aaron, he lived this way with the woman of his dreams! :)
